Ventajas: Relatively fast flight

Desventajas: No entertainment or perks at all. And the worst thing was that before flight, they closed us in an insulated gate especially for flights to Tel Aviv, something made out of the 1980’s with a small kiosk with cold sandwiches and “espresso” from an automatic machine, if we knew this is the case, we at least would’ve bought something to eat before entering the 80’s terminal/gate.

Space

Ventajas: Too cramped for a 10 hour flight

Desventajas: Same as above

Ventajas: Most uncomfortable flight in years. No space. Hard seats, horrible food, had to beg for water. Little service, and not friendly. Overall a horrible flight. At least we made there on time

Problem with Kayak

Ventajas: Lufthansa is a friendly airline but was unable to help with our problem because I had booked through Kayak.

Desventajas: When I presented my passport at the counter to receive my boarding pass, I was told my passport needed to be over 3 months before expiration. It expires January 14, 2019. It is not written on the passport, nor mentioned during booking. I’ve been to Latvia four times previously and never heard this requirement. I cancelled the flight with Lufthansa who said I must call Kayak who gave me another number to call and that number then sent an email that said there was a $350 rebooking fee for each ticket, IF they decided I was eligible for rebooking. Yes, we got a great rate, but looks like wasted $ now. I will book directly with the airline in the future to ensure the ability to rebook.

Security Line Too Slow

Ventajas: The issue is not with Lufthansa but with the Berlin Airport. First of all, It is not clear that you have to do the checkinn at terminal B and then come back to the gate where you have to go pass security. This is when it gets even more complicated, the line is long and slow, there is only one security arch and xray machine, is took us almost an hour to go through.

Ventajas: The red wine was good. The flight was smooth.

Desventajas: Unpleasant boarding experience: While my carry-on item was well within the Lufthansa guidelines, the lady in charge of boarding insisted that it was too big and did not allow it in the cabin. I have used the same bag in previous Lufthansa flights without any problem. She sarcastically told me that "I am not Americanaki" - a derogatory expression used by those in Greece who consider the Americans naive.
