The staff was amazing. Very nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for what we wanted. The room was a bit muggy and humid.
Good front desk service Checkout isn't till 11pm. House keeping kept trying to come in before 9am , kept waking us up twice!
Good room nice both room
The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was excellent and the location is great if you want to hit the downtown Austin touristy stuff (which is plentiful). The bathroom was extremely small (you had to step outside the bathroom to dry off), and rather weirdly, the toilet was shallow -- which I mention because you WILL get wet using this toilet. Very uncomfortable for a man. Never seen a toilet like that, and I hope to never see another one again. The AC didn't work well and was a bit noisy.
Very close to downtown clubs and restaurants. Good restaurant on 18th floor. Safe area. Very tiny pool. Really it was the same size as the spa. It was just for cooling off.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful here and the price was better than most hotels in the city. We really enjoyed our stay here! Valet parking is pricey
Convenient location $16 a plate for breakfast with no warning. $30 mandatory valet with no warning.
Great location for access to entertainment. Excellent buffet breakfast to tide us through the day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cigarette butts in surrounding walkway near the river. Nearby ash tray. People are pigs. Sofa bed sheets pretty rough.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to the location for the wedding we were attending.
Location and price. The front desk person was not accommodating. Had booked a king bed for my wife and I and at check in was simply told they don't have one and that we would need to take a room with 2 double beds instead if her upgrading us to a different room w a king. Upon arrival at our room, the keys did not work and then had to move rooms
Breakfast was delicious, beds were adjustable, room had great amenities, very clean, greatly enjoyed my stay The hallways were a little loud
The location is excellent for Austin downtown activities Poor Internet connection
Great location for access to both downtown/Capitol and nice eastside neighborhoods (and Franklin BBQ!), very clean and felt freshly renovated. The wifi basically didn't work and the staff could not care less about you. Also, the walls were REALLY thin and there seemed to be a bunch of parties and/or loud arguments on Friday night
I was very upset that no one told me that the motel was under construction. I made my reservations on the phone, and they had every chance to tell me, but didn't. And then they lied and said, "No, we tell everyone". Wrong. I do not like being deceived. And they wouldn't bend an inch on my rate. There was absolutely NO way I would have booked this stay at a hotel that was under construction had I known.
The room was great. It was renovated and comfortable. It had a nice microwave, coffee pot, and fridge. Room service didn't clean our room one day. We called the front desk. He assured us they would be right up. They never came. We called back and he told us they left for the day. At the very least all we asked the front desk for was new towels. They brought us two bath mats. Very unacceptable. We went back to the front desk for the third time and got two more ratty looking towels. Customer service that day was very poor. Another night, some other guests were so rowdy that the police were called. I realize that was out of the hotels control.
It had easy access to the highway but our room near the back was very quiet. It was within walking distance of 6th street. The floors must be cleaned with oil rags. Our feet turned black. We were told the breakfast was until 10:00, but found out on Mnday that during the week it is only until 9:00.
Really good location to the Texas football game (about a 20 minute walk). Clean, comfortable room and a good value for the price. You only get one set of towels a day and you need to take your used towels down to the front desk for new ones each time... so when it's hot & humid and you want to take two/three showers a day it's a little annoying unless you just use your wet towel to dry off again.
Great location. Great room and very clean. Very good value Staff was very rude on multiple occasions for no reason. We were not complaining about anything, but to perform basic tasks like check in or check out we were met with unfriendly people. We had to go back multiple times to get our keys to work to get into our room
Rooms were well cleaned. No respect for the 'do not disturb' signs, both mornings.
The room was inexpensive. Did not sleep well, other guests were loud outside the room at 3:00am, not as close to down town as I expected.
The helpfulness of the staff and the location
The room was very clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. The beds were very comfortable.
Very nice accommodations and quick check in on a last minute booking. Would definitely stay there again. There were really no negatives but a complimentary breakfast would have been a nice addition to my stay.
We love the location and the extra space with the pull out sofa! Also Tunisia who works at the front desk is exceptional at customer service. She just gets it-and quickly! You should promote her or at least hang on to her!! Cleanliness around the pool area
Dried jelly on table next to bed, drug dealer down the hall way, family of 8 with kids running up and down hall at 10:30 pm, drunk drug addict passed out in in stairwell at 5:45 am.
Big enough room, great location, and good parking. Smelt like cigarette smoke, the lights in the bathroom didn't work, room wasn't very clean and the walls are thin!
Location, location, location. Dirty Sixth was super accessible. The furniture was a bit dirty. The refrigerator, for example, was super filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned.
The location is GREAT! Awesome walking distance to take in the sites.. The prices can be very expensive! Especially for it being a 2 star hotel. The young girl at the front desk when I checked in was a lil rude. If I paying $405 a night I expect a decent breakfast...not a muffin and coffee...
Everything except the valet parking (that service was good & prompt, though); self park would have been preferable. Staff-ALL staff-was excellent, highly competent & knowledgeable, courteous, professional and friendly. I believe that the SFA hotel staff could compare favorably with hotels ANYWHERE. Only indoor pool; outdoor pool would have been preferable. Would have rather had self-parking available than valet parking
In "nice" hotels like this, one oftentimes encounters staff workers that are acerbic and demeaning w/o realizing it because the culture of the environment encourages that behavior. The staff in this case was excellent and down to earth. They smiled and laughed when I joked around w/ them (and I am funny .... and cute!). Most notably was our concierge, "Chenisse Johns," OUTSTANDING!. She was so helpful w/ many of our questions whether giving us directions for local restaurants or providing us w/ an upgrade in our room - which we took advantage of on the last night of our stay! The rooms on the 16th floor were fantastic and grand. They were quiet, allowing us to really SLEEP & wake up refreshed. I definitely would stay here again. OH, it's right in the heart of downtown, thus one can walk anywhere from the hotel.
nice decoration, nice ambiance, good room, was standard double very noisy airconditioning, should really be improved
Good location, clean, quiet, air conditioned, restaurant attached, computer in lobby to print your boarding pass.
Cleanliness, and friendly staff. Downtown location is great for exploring 6th st area. South Congress is a long walk (esp. in hot sun), but was still do-able. Parking at the hotel is $40 / night by valet. We ended up at a nearby garage @ $24 / night.
No problems with reservation. Location was superb. Concierge was delightful. Difficult to find in the dark. We found the room a bit small and not quite enough room in the bathroom. The water and/or the plumbing had an off-putting smell.
Location was great and the staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful.
Very nice hotel in a great location My room was very small for the price
Helpful, friendly staff. Sundries shop open 24 hours. Housekeeping sometimes didn't supply enough shampoo for 2 people.
Location, Staff, and Comfy Expensive Valet.
The staff is very courteous and welcoming. The location is great if you want to enjoy a night on the town without having to drive. The rooms look nice and were clean. Parking says $29 a day for guests (actually $37.89 after all fees). I was charged for valet parking, which I never used so I had to call and dispute it. There was a party going on down the hall which did not bother us, until we got a voicemail saying we were going to get kicked out if we get another noise complaint in the morning from management on the first night. We decided to stay away from the hotel for as long as possible to be safe. We asked for a specific room type. Just in case, called the hotel before we arrived to make sure it was ready. They confirmed everything was ready. Once we arrived, they put us in a different room than requested and said it was the best they could do.
Double charged me.
I was able to book the room right before KW Mega Camp at a great rate. It's right next to the Convention center and close enough to 6th Street. It could have come with a fridge instead of having to request it and bottled water.
The pool is nice, the service was good, the location is ok. Way too loud and I was told that I should have expected the noisy drunk people outside my door for 2 hours every morning when the bars let out because it's the weekend. I wouldn't stay here unless you like frat parties.
It was extremely loud with guests partying until all hours and loudness outside.
Miguel Dubose was very accommodating when I called needing to let my fiancé check in before I myself was able to arrive. Our cleaning lady was very friendly and when I asked for a fan for the room she made it happen. Our server Fransico was very personable and friendly. Hmmm where do I start? Pictures online associated with the Omni downtown are pretty deceiving. The television in our room had a terrible picture. None of the hdmi ports worked or would even register that anything had been plugged into them. The AC in our room was useless. The coldest the room would get was 74 degrees. The unit would allow you to go as low as 60 degrees but the room never got below 74 and that was at 2-4am by the time it would cool to 74. We couldn't sleep or was so hot in the room. I called the front desk twice and they told me they would send an engineer to access the problem. He never arrived. Once I asked our cleaning lady she brought me a small fan. But at that point something was better than nothing. We could hear the entire conversation of the guests in the room next to us. The mattress are quite firm. Not that big of a deal. But the fact of not being able to sleep due to being sweaty and sticky was very annoying. Not once did anyone ask us if we would like to move to a different room. Maybe one where the AC actually worked worth a flip. The safe in our room was malfunicationing and would not open. Spent ten minutes trying to get into our room safe to remove my belongings. We live in Dallas and have never had an issue at the omni Dallas. But I will say that I will not stay at the omni in Austin again!
No thing stand out Location, parking, service for the price, quality of breakfast/food was awful, gym was outdated Overall for the price you pay you can get much better hotel that this place
great room bad parking
Great staff, location, and layout!! The shower was our only issue. The temperature was either scolding hot or ice cold. Made showering very uncomfortable.
Convenient location, great room, comfortable bed, good restaurant for breakfast, nice bar. Would stay again! You can hear the music from sixth street on Friday nights-but you're in Austin right?
There was not much to like Hotel lobby was always like a ghost town and neigborhood crazy. Two people were shot dead while we were staying there during the 4th of July weekend. We were stuck in our rooms with no room service and were escorted out through the back doors to get out of the hotel. It was a horrifying experience for my pregnant wife and I to get woken up by gun shots and murders at 5AM and ruined the rest of our trip. We want our money back for this stay.
Nice place. Great rooftop pool! Some things in this place didn't quite work as intended. However management was quick to resolve the issue.
Our shower flooded and my husband's side of the mattress had what seemed like a broken spring or hole that sank down very deep. Our mini fridge was warm, nothing inside was cold or even cool. The light was on but it wasn't working. The Internet was $9.99 a day and then it didn't even work! I called for help twice, the first time they transferred my call to an offsite wifi support line - not helpful. The second time they were very rude and said they would be sending up engineers. We waited for 1.5 hours before giving up as they never showed up. If you can't help us that would be one thing, but don't say you'll help and then not show up! We left the next morning for another hotel that didn't feel outdated and had better service, better mattresses, and free internet.
Good if you're traveling for business. Facilities are just okay.
Club level breakfast and happy hour was nice Rooms are very dated as is entire hotel. There are much newer/ nicer options in Austin for $350-400/ night.
Beautiful Decor. Very Clean. Super friendly staff! The view from my room :(
Nice staff. Good location next to AT&T center. Nice breakfast and gym. Pillows need help. Sink was smelly and needed to be cleaned out. Some long black hairs very obviously around.
Great gym/workout facility Very comfortable room Love the full length windows and light Great location Charge $$$ for wifi Noise from the street was surprisingly loud, even on the 30th floor
Everything! Beautiful room, beautiful city, excellent location.
I liked how friendly the staff was. The entire place is super clean and nice. Accessible to many great restaurants and 6th st. Also there's a lake only two blocks away! The only reason why I didn't give it a five stars rating is because the entrance to the parking lot is so busy. They only had one entrance and unless you valet you were waiting to get into the garage. On the upside the wait was less than 7 minutes. Also the pool bar needs more kore bartenders. The pool attendees were really nice once you flag them down for attention.
Rooms very average...In addition it was very noisy, could hear everything going on opening/closing of doors.. etc.
Very new and nice hotel. Very big hotel that has hundreds of people in the lobby at a given time. Never had a bad stay there and service is good. But always feel like I am a convention when I stay there.
The JW is centrally located to the Austin downtown area and many trendy restaurants and bars were within walking distance. In addition, the room, staff and on-site restaurants were excellent. When I spend that amount of money for a nightly accommodation, WiFi and Internet need to be a part of the package.
The location was awesome, the staff was super friendly and very accommodating, the room was clean and had an amazing view of downtown. Overall it was perfect for a couple of girlfriends and I to getaway and explore austin. One thing that I didn't like was that the pool was extremely crowded every day and night that we were there. There was barely room to get IN the pool (you were pretty much shoulder to shoulder in there) let alone find a chair to relax on because they were all taken. We were really excited about the pool too but turns out it wasn't so relaxing. That's my only complaint tho, this hotel was amazing so I can't blame everyone wanting to be there and to enjoy the pool as well.
When we checked in there was a candy wrapper on floor, pieces of trash in closet and a small piece on bathroom floor. I had to call housekeeping to clean our room Saturday after 4:30 pm. They didn't wipe the tops of bedside tables that needed it. Parking service was a nightmare. Long wait times.
Staff was terrific. The room was elegant and detailed with elegance and comfort. Extremely impressed with the ambiance, cleanliness and European delight found so close to downtown Austin. Highly recommend this hotel... a special treat was the bed turn down without special request.
A very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Small, non-chain place with great charm. Enjoyed sitting on veranda with a glass of wine. Wish I could've stayed longer.
Laid back, helpful and comfortable, situated close enough to the city.
Close to downtown. Friendly and helpful staff. Luxurious linens.
The equipment of the hotel is on very good level comparable to other high class hotels.
Wonderful room, staff, and overall feel.
Restaurant staff especially accommodating - stayed late to serve me.
This was a very nice boutique hotel...nice staff, nice restaurant. Close to the unioversity and close to downtown. The room was a little small (petite queen) and our room location was next to the front desk.
Location, cookies. Parking area too small and damaged the nose of my car when pulling in and out of the lot. Breakfast was exceptionally slow to come (45 minutes) and of poor quality when it did arrive (cold and disgusting). Still liked the hotel overall but would eat elsewhere.
Gorgeous architecture -- internal and external. Beautiful huge rooms for a very affordable rate. This is a great hotel for a romantic getaway in the friendly and fun city of Austin.
Everyone was very polite and helpful
Horrible stay overall given that this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel which it is NOT. It has one outdoor pool which is off the other side of the hotel and barely heated for our stay. Spa also terrible with no whirlpool, sauna. Only a small steam room in each locker room. Room and view were nice in downtown Austin, but that is about it. No tennis courts nor golf and only 3 or 4 spa treatment rooms. Gym area pointless with only a few treadmills and free weights. Will not stay again given price and lack of amenities. How is this 5 star??? not a typical four seasons for sure!!
The Four Seasons Austin is a magical place. The building and grounds are the best of the best. Austin is a beautiful city and the Four Seasons helped us to enjoy and experience this great city. We asked the Concierge what there was to do in Austin. He told us that he might be able to get us tickets to see Wicked. He did. The performance was sold out and was truely amazing. As great as the hotel was, the staff were even better. Why do we like the Four Seasons so much--because the staff provide a level of service that we experience no where else. My wife told me that they made her feel like the most important person in the world. We want to go back to Austin, to spend more time at the Four Seasons and to spend more time in this very special city.
I attended a conference at this hotel, so the rate was much below market rate. I upgraded from a Cityview room to a Lakeview room. The two rooms are identical, the only difference is the view, so decide if the view is worth the extra. In my case, I thought it might be quieter facing the lake, and it gave me a fabulous view of the bridge where the famous Austin bats emerge each night. The room was attractive and comfortable. I liked that the small fridge in the room containing items you have to pay for could be emptied out and filled with my own items. Room service charges were exhorbitant: $ total for a salad with seared chicken on it, and the greens were not fresh by the time I got the meal. Outside of meals provided by the conference, I didn't eat at the hotel. Service was wonderful. One weird thing is that they don't put a book in your room acquainting you with the locations of all their services (pool, spa, ice machines, etc.) When I asked about it, the desk clerk immedia...
The charm and the location. The bar was also fun and lively. Rooms were a little dated.
