It's cheap and you get about what you expect for $50 in San Francisco. The accommodations were moderately decent considering the location. I was expecting it to be slightly more bare-bones so expecting literally nothing I was cool with how it all worked out. Also the location in terms of how close it is to everything is pretty great. It's right next to Japan Town, China Town and Haight & Ashbury, so that was cool. Don't expect much more than a convenient location in the ghetto. It's literally in the Ghetto, basically it's in the red-light district. There's no parking and I nearly stepped out of my parking spot onto human shit. Definitely come prepared and armed with some mace or a stun-gun just in case. Nothing happened but better safe than sorry. Avoid eye contact and don't talk to anyone until you get to your room and try not to come back late. Definitely not a safe area to bring your family. Also I was able to break into my room pretty easily, I won't disclose how but it was concerningly easier to break into my room than it was to unlock the door. Don't bring anything valuable. This a place to sleep, not a place to stay.
Loved the location the service and price Got the job don't I don't think I can complain
Owners were very friendly. They allowed us to use the rest of our stay after we checked out early and missed our bus they let us sleep in our room at no extra charge which was extremely appreciated! Bathrooms could have been kept cleaner but maybe that was because it was late at night when I used them. In the morning they were nice and clean. We also didnt have a secure door for most of the night into the morning. The keys stopped working or something and if it wasnt for my boyfriend asking a couple times I'm not sure we would have gotten a working key.
Cheap place to stay. Close to market street and train station. Not too many people stayed at the hostel. Bathroom was always stocked with paper. Bathrooms and shower were clean. Not a true hostel as their is no common area. Only private rooms. Neighbors always have music playing loud. Neighbors also smoke a lot. Smell from smoke reached our room
Seems to be in the midst of an overhaul. New floors and paint and in decent shape for one of these cheap San Francisco hotels/hostels. The owners/managers are a little crazy... Room was booked for two but they freaked out when my friend came in to stay, until I pulled up the reservation... Also, they hate animals... They were going off on someone with a small service animal.
baños comunitarios y pocos, internet estropeado, faltan enchufes
Value, staff The neighborhood, no way to adjust the temp in the room
To start the homeless sleep outside the so called "hotel". Pretty sure I witness a drug deal while walking to the hotel. Also the hotel didn't seem like one. It was more like a big house and the renters might leave there with smaller children. No parking included!!
Many interesting restaurants in the area. The room was 'clean' but smelled very bad of old, musty and food. I was traveling alone and did not feel safe in the neighborhood at night.
You're getting what you pay for. The owner, and potentially only staff member is why this place gets a two. He is an old school Italian born and raised in the house of hard knocks of New England. Really talkative and down to earth, but if you do him wrong, he will rip you a new one. I don't know if I obtained a steal, but I paid $50 for a private room on the Monday following the city's pride parade. This isn't the fault of the establishment, but the location is not good. It's located near the BART station in the Tenderloin district. If you're not familiar with the city, this is ground zero for the bay area's homeless. No HVAC in the room, which can be a big issue if it's a really cold or hot day. The facilities were the bare minimums. The overall cleanliness definitely could've been better.
Only price matters No AC facility if we ask they will ask us open windows and sleep. In the Bay Area we know how windy it is.bathrooms are not maintained well and it shared bathrooms. I was not able to more than 1 hour I paid the that rent and left the hotel.
The location was perfect. It is in the middle of the SF and everywhere important is just away in walking distance. The bed was really uncomfortable. They need to change those iron bunk beds with the wooden ones. And by the way, please put one more chair!
Very clean, easy checkin, good wifi Had to leave the window open because the room was a bit stuffy, whcihbmeant it was really noisy. Sharing a toilet was fine, dunno about the shower room -but we didn't need that anyway.
I liked going to sleep, so I could forget about where I was until I woke up. The hotel was surrounded by bums. The odor of the hotel was awful curry opening the window presented a urine odor from the alley The bed had springs that drove into your back or side,The walls were paper thin. I had to go home and shower after this stay
Great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very basic.
In-room Microwave, refrigerator, table No coffee machine or hot waterSmell weird in the beginningThe towels and curtains are not clean
I'm a traveler from Japan and this was the first time to use a hostel. This hostel has really nice facilities. I enjoyed good service. The place around the hostel was a little dirty and there was few clean restraurants. But it's okay because I could go to the market street easily from this hostel.
