The only positive feature of this hotel is the free wine. Pool sucks. No self parking despite the fact that they have a 3-4 story parking garage in the hotel. Decor is heinous. They put us in a handicap room for no reason when they had plenty of capacity. Subpar location and an extremely boring area, unless you 90 years old and named Ethel.
Location was okay, right near highway Didn't notify us they were under renovation because we booked through booking.com not directly through the hotel (and thank goodness they are renovating the rooms look TIRED), reserved a king deluxe and they oversold our room type and weren't able to honor our reservation the first night. I was offered a partial refund and a change to a new room the second night but it made for an unpleasant first night stay. While under renovation there is no restaurant in the hotel and room service was over priced and lousy. $50 for pancakes and eggs for 2 that tasted so blah we weren't interested in finishing. I have never written a review before but this place was like a Venus trap, they lure you in online then we were there we saw too late the hotel for what it really was. Buyer beware.
The design of the lobby and rooms are beautiful. The front of house staff and restaurant team are beyond friendly. I loved the location - I just wish it had been a bit closer to the heart of Beverly Hills. The pool area was a bit disappointing. Since it was not rooftop I wish it had been a bit more lush. Also wish there was regular wait service out there.
The towels felt like sandpaper. The weren't soft...
Staff was very friendly. Room was nice and quiet Typical of area, parking was expensive, though valets were wonderful and very fast.
Have always been a huge Kimpton fan. This one is right on Wilshire, convenient to Westwood/UCLA and Century City. It's a redo of an older property. Nicely finished but nothing to write home about. Did not have a chance to try the bar or the restaurant. Room service prices were reasonable. Seems to appeal to a younger, hip crowd. All that said it's a very solid, cost competitive choice if you need to stay in this part of town. We'll be back.
I like the style of this hotel overall, I think they can updated the hallways as well, it doesn't match the restaurant and lobby feel. The bathroom was a little yucky. I would describe the atmosphere in room as "dry", felt like I had to wake up several times to drink water. The pool area is small, for families I think that is perfect but to lounge around it doesn't feel right.
I like the convenience of the location and the friendliness of the staff. No major dislikes.
My husband and I took a quick trip to LA, one of our planned honeymoons but also to maintain our flight status on the airline we travel. We decided to look at some of the Kayak reviews online, and came across the Hotel Palomar. We enjoy boutique hotels and the price was right so we decided to give it a try. Staff: Wesley, a front desk agent, was friendly and welcoming. In fact, he prepared a hand written note and sent up a bottle of wine, cheese, and chocolate covered strawberries for our honeymoon celebration. It was a very nice touch. In fact, we did not encounter ANY rude, mediocre, or unhelpful hotel employee during our entire stay, including employees at the restaurant, vallets, or front desk. Excellent! Location: prime for us. The activities we had planned were are located in the westwood area. Its a beautiful neighborhood, also located near the freeway entrance. Added bonuses: 1) A delicious coffe and tea hour in the morning with complimentary newspaper, 2) Fruit infused water provided all day in the lobby, 3) very fun FREE cocktail hour (two types of wine). There was even a DJ.4) You can request to have a live gold fish keep you company in your room during your stay. Of course we took advantage of this. We even named our loaner pet. So SWEET! 5) They have a list of items that are provided free of charge at your request: curling iron, razors, combs, deodrant, humidifier. They even provide a yoga mat.
No
Close to UCLA and in the heart of Westwood Village. Very quiet and clean.
Desk staff were most cordial and informative and dhellpful.
Hilgard has the best value for money in the UCLA neighborhood..
Wonderful staff. Lovely boutique hotel
Location , free parking , free Internet and good price Bathroom was dirty
Habitaciones limpias, actualizadas, bonita zona.
