I sprung for a nicer hotel on this trip because I had some extra money and I was visiting my mom in the hospital so I was under extra stress. I wish I had of saved my money now. I know this might seem unfair but it's just because of breakfast. Why should I pay substantially more and get less out of it? Plus the prices at the breakfast bar were really over inflated; I'm a restaurant manager so I know food cost. It all felt designed to milk every penny out of me for the duration of my visit. Even the wi-fi had a faster version that cost extra. I won't stay there again. I don't like it when I over pay for something that's just ok and then don't get as much out of it as I would at cheaper places.
Location Old outdated dirty bad lights a/c
Helpful staff, clean, Food on the dull side
The location was close to where I needed to be. The rooms were dirty. The first room 423 wasn't cleaned properly. There was hair in the bed and in the shower curtain. Maintenance had to be called to fix a drain stoppage. we moved to another room that also had hair in the bed and mold in the shower grout. We assumed any other room wouldn't be better so we didn't move for the third time. Horrible
Location Hotel is old and runned down EVEN WITH the renovations. MOST of the tv channels are partially scrambled and unable to be viewed. I had to change rooms twice until I was able to find one with a working AC unit (the unit would shut off after running for about 3-4 mins and wouldn't come back on). The lady at the bar obviously has been there way long and I observed her complaining about her boss. There were ants all over the bar and the philly cheese steak was bad. There are many more similar priced hotels in C'ville than this one. I would recommend you check them out first.
The hotel and room were spotless. Room was quite large, extremely comfortable bed and bedding, nicely laid out, beautiful view of pond with white swans and ducks.. I requested a quiet location and they happily accommodated me. I'm an insomniac, and 10 minutes of continual noise means being awake for several hours. It was extremely quiet, so this was wonderful. The lighting in the very clean bathroom was also better than average for putting on makeup, & lots of counterspace. . Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was better than I anticipated. Definitely returning. WiFi in room very slow & cut out, I gave up using my device. No complimentary continental breakfast, coffee and tea only. We don't eat a full breakfast, which was the only option, and it's not worth paying $11 per person for a muffin and banana. Fortunately, there is a Starbucks 5 minutes away at the top of the hill.
Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean. Restitant was nice good food
The staff was friendly and very accommodating. I will definitely stay there again, soon. It's right next to Starbuck's and large selection of eateries. Nada
affordable breakfast was bagel and coffee. Shower was moldy.
Room smelled bad. Commode ran all the time. Black mold in bathroom. Beds not comfortable.
location was convenient for where I was room was available during a snow storm for <$100 No smoking sign on the door, but the room smelled like an ashtray - I mentioned it to the front desk when I checked out & they tried to blame it on the room next door but I told her even the bathroom curtain smelled. When I got home and pulled out my sweats I slept in, they smelled like an ashtray. Sheets/blankets had cigarette burns in them. Found a cellophane wrapper from a cigarette pack on the floor. Furniture was severely stained; room needed a paint job; no electrical outlets near the desk. Limited water pressure in the shower and shower head not moveable to prevent the need to stand almost on top of the drain. Bathroom vent needs to be cleaned (thick layer of dust). Parking was not well cleared from snow - spaces across from the room in the back were, but no clear path to the room. No place to park when checking in - I had to block the rear entry & other guest was not happy with me.
The rooms were clean, staff was nice, and the price was affordable. Alot of restaurants around hotel. There was no iron, the rooms had a slite old hotel room smell but after a while I didn't notice it.
My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting Charlottesville for a concert on a Tuesday night and it was nothing short of perfect for $59. The front desk clerk was very friendly and we were able to park right out front of our room. We got a non-smoking room with double beds and it was VERY clean (no dingy old smokey smell to it, either)! Refrigerator, microwave, heat/AC, free wifi (great connection), and ice/vending machines right outside of the room. The shower/bath tub was a bit stained but clean nonetheless and worked quite well (nice pressure). It wasn't loud outside either and the room was pretty big too. We were extremely pleased with the state of the room and got a wonderful nights sleep. We would absolutely recommend staying here and plan too whenever we come back again!
Staff was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Room size good value. Free Internet!!
Staff very friendly. I would definitely use this hotel again.
The room was enormous! Beautiful views, very clean hotel. Great service.
Loved the pool, spa and gym facilities. They have a nice open, relaxing terrace feel. TJ's is a nice restaurant and convenient. The executive floor is affordable and includes breakfast and evening cocktail hour--a good value. Rooms should include a minibar and on-demand tv.
We were very disappointed with this location. We don't get to travel very often so we were really looking forward to staying in what we thought was a "nice" hotel. This location shouldn't be able to have the Hilton name. We stayed in a room that was very damp and had mold growing in the bathroom. I'm sick now from staying in that room. When we told the guy at the front desk, he did say that we was very sorry, but didn't do anything else. We will not be staying at this hotel anymore.
Hotel facilities were good and room was comfortable. Although outside of the city centre there were plenty of placed to eat locally. Check in was slow. Could not understand why we had to wait 2 hours for our room to be available. Check out is 11am and yet they did not have a room available until 3:30 in the afternoon.
Good location. Hotel staff very friendly. Rooms are well maintained and roomy. Always enjoy the cookie at check in. Wish they would have a mini fridge in room.
The location was excellent, staff friendly, and service was great! Loved the cookies when we arrrived! Our shower faucet was totally broken and when we mentioned this at checkout, we were charged only half the price for the night...a very nice reaction!
It was good enough to price paid
clean, quiet, comfortable bed
Cereal at 6 A.M. Broken chair, window cracked, had to have the microwave replaced (wouldn't turn), noisy neighbors, just run down!
I made plans to meet my girlfriend which was staying at Fort Lee while going to school for the Airforce....me coming from Buffalo NY...I picked charlottesville because we wanted to go to Monticello and it was close to Shenandoah state part for a weekend get away..I did read a few of the comments before making resivations and seeing i have stayed at another super 8 in New York and found it to be nothing like the negative reviews for that hotel ..i figured it cant be that bad. Now..wirh that being said..here is my review for Charlottesville Super 8.. The goods.. Great location..close to EVERYTHING..restaurants..stores..entertainment..parks..you name it.. The bads.. No key cards to enter the building..not a great secured property.. Strong smell of cigarette smoke and maybe a little wacky tobacky in the hallways.. Beds are Very uncomfortable..if you stay in rhe center of the bed ..you be ok... For a non smoking room..i found burn holes in rhe sheets..hummmmm? Brrakfast was free..but we went out for breakfast ecery morning because we didnt like the maybe once frozen waffles...the offered bread fot toast..and cereal..milk that sat on ice..and wasn't really cold. Get what you pay for i guess
The price and location. The front desk attendant the day of wouldn't let me check-in an hour early and was rude about it.
Inexpensive place to stay if all you need is a place to sleep.
Only good thing I can say is the location was good for me. This is a classic low budget motel -- old worn out furnishings, reek of tobacco in public areas, virtually no amenities.
Cheap Non-smoking room, smelled like a smoking room. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Breakfast area was very 'compact'. Staff was not overly friendly, a little rough around the edges.
Dirty, old, broke down
You get what you pay for it isn't a super expensive hotel so don't go there with those expectations and you should be just fine. The staff helps as they can, when they can. Other than that it's fine for a crash . House keeping is a little loud, and even with the do not disturb sign up they still knock.
The location was good The room was outdated , I had a non smoking room and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Overall I didn't enjoy my stay and would not recommend it anyone I know.
I GOT BED BUGS!!!!!!
The room layout was perfect. Separate sleeping and lounging area. The bed was very comfortable. I didn't want to get out of bed!
got bed bugs
This was a nice hotel convenient to downtown and UVA. They had an excellent, free breakfast buffet.

Easy to park. Walk to restaurants. AC was good and not too noisy. Clean. Bathroom was too small.
Friendly helpful staff. Studio room was very spacious and well equipped with full size fridge, dishes, pots, cups, glasses, silverware. Very quiet room. The complimentary breakfast buffet was the best we ever had in a hotel. The air-conditioning was a bit noisy.
location the room is pretty big. but very noise. also, the toilet paper was near running out at very beginning.
Room is spacious and well equiped. The exercise room is not very big, but I liked the equipment they had.
Location was excellent. The Staff and the facilities could not have been better.
Always a great stay. The ladies who put out breakfast, Susan, Maria, Bernadette welcome new or returning guests with charm and warmth, starting each of our days with a smile. People at front desk also very nice.Marisa went several extra miles for us.

INDOOR swimming pool and free breakfast. The room was small but looked very nice.
I've always wanted to stay in a Sleep Inn, b/c I think that's a clever name for a hotel! The hotel is remodeled and is lovely. The breakfast was good, room quiet, and accommodations comfortable. Check in was pretty slow, probably the slowest we recall in recent years. There were 2 parties in front of us, and, in all fairness to the clerk, the first party had numerous requests, and the second didn't speak much English. Probably a 20' wait.
Not much to like here. Location of the only advantage. The housekeeping only did one thing - replaced just towels and wash cloths. Garbage was not emptied, toilet paper and Kleenex not replaced, bath mat taken and not replaced. The floor was filthy - bottom of my feet were black very quickly. Poor A/C.
Checkin was very quick, staff was pleasant. Room was clean. Grounds were clean. Complimentary breakfast was pleasantly surprising. We saw the real eggs on the back room counter. Location is close to route 64. Gas stations nearby. The room had a somewhat musty oder, but tolerable, (and my wife is fussy)! Tv is analog only, but we weren't there for the tv.
The beds were comfortable. The room temperature was great upon our arrival. In my mid-60's with one bad leg, yet had to make multiple trips carrying all luggage up 2 flights of stairs from the furthest away parking spot, as all parking spaces closer were taken as were all carts. Cars were parked in the drop off area over night.
close to interstate, nearby gas stations and stores none
Comfortable beds and pillows Room cleanliness primarily restroom
Staff was nicer then i have had at any hotel Not much parking but have a back lot 🤔
Bed was very comfortable, breakfast great and staff very friendly and accommodating! Nothing personally about the hotel, however this trip was planned around a MAJOR surgery for my sister that ended up being postponed, out of our control and in know way were we able to cancel the reservation. We were disappointed!
everything was good, they need to fix noisy fan in pool room
Loved the price of the room and the excellent value for it. Breakfast was ok, seems it was better in the past. The bacon is pretty terrible.
Very close to everything...we went for a trip to the vineyards, family friendly, very clean, staff was great and accommodating! Coffee could have been better but hey it was free haha other than that no real complaints at all thank you for a great time
We were only at Fairfield for a short time, but was definitely impressed. I was pleased to see the quality of the facility for the price I paid. Can't say I disliked anything about Fairfield Inn. They even let is check-out late, which allowed us to fully rest before heading back down the road.
Front desk reps were excellent - extremely helpful and friendly. Liked the rooms, lobby, breakfast, free wifi, use of business center, etc.
Manager was nice, professional, worked hard to accommodate me: I had booked through an online discount service and unknowingly booked a smoking room. The manager worked to find me a non-smoking room for both nights of my stay. Linens were clean, and so was the bathroom. Seemed safe and secure. Unfortunately, the room had a stale smell, as if someone had been smoking in the room despite the non-smoking signs. Doors open to a balcony facing the parking lot.
Location and price are hard to beat. While the place was pretty beat up the carpets and linens were clean and new and everything looked clean. Staff was nice, helped me locate my wallet that I had left in about 5 minutes. Showing a great deal of wear.
the staff The sink spigot had such low water pressure that I had to shave and brush my teeth in the bath tub. The door did not fit right and was hard to open. The iron holder had been torn from the wall. They canceled the door keys after the first night and we had
Nice location set back from the busy highway, quiet. A few shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. The room decor has been updated and is very nice for the price. The exercise room is a little small but the eliptical machine was fully funtional!

Swimming pool's cleaniness had alot to be desired. Outdoor lighting of pool was very poor.
The hotel was a slightly better price ($---) than the others I was looking at. The construction workers were friendly, polite, and professional and the breakfast was ok. Entrance unlabeled, under construction. Main lobby looked like a warehouse under construction; 'front desk': a dusty table with notepads &old printer. Smelled like smoke, dust; dingy. Greater distance from town, construction were not worth the savings
Affordable, close to a restaurant, had the lights with the outlet jacks so I didn't have to crawl under the desk to plug in my pc. I'm getting better at operating unfamiliar TV remotes, but it would be nice if the industry could agree on a standard. Coffee maker in the room didn't work properly, only boiled half of the water and tripped off. The breakfast was good though, so that made up for it.
This was a disaster. A law student baseball team visiting Town took over the top floor literally all night long the police came they were noisy there was cursing they threatened to physically hurt anybody you came out of their room I want my money back
the rooms was the nicest I stayed in but they never came to clean our room or my friends room. At 4:00pm we asked for towels said they were short staff they will try to get to our room. By then we had to get ready for a weeding. The hotel itself was great my truck was hit in the parking lot they told us three days in a row they would view the cameras and give us a description of the vehicle and lic# that hit us the very first night.Never got back to us this is not saying much about the staff or manager.
Very helpful and friendly staff. The place is new, modern, and well-appointed. We were NOT nickeled-and-dimed for every little thing--let alone gouged. Bottled water is complementary, and so was a meal, beer and wine, and breakfast. We'll be back!! There was NOTHING to dislike. Every aspect of the stay was wonderful. Never been to a hotel with nicer and friendlier staff.
This was a very nice hotel with very friendly staff. The bed was the most comfortable that I had ever laid in. The hotel was a little bit off the road and the entrance was a little hard to see. We ended up using the back entrance just for ease of getting around town.
Full kitchen, free evening social with food, wine and beer
The shuttle to the train station was very convenient and both drivers that we met were very polite.
Clean, large room with a ceiling fan (big plus). Nice large shower.
cleanliness, location. Food could be warmer
Great Room/Gym/location Very Loud, hard to rest due to children and Pets.
I was visiting Charlottesville to attend a concert. The staff was so amazing and made the experience top notch from the check in to providing a shuttle to and from the concert.
The hotel is clean, great lighting inside and out and has a very helpful staff. Breakfast is an added plus. No.
255 words aren't enough. Everything from the clean welcoming lobby, dining room, beds..this place is awesome. I got a great rate with my AARP card. Dinner Breakfast was great..fireplace, fire pit on patio, indoor heated pool, hot tub, wonderful staff This place is wonderful new and clean. Only negative I can even imagine is that it sit back off of main road...but you are seconds from the main roads. This place is so worth it.

I enjoyed my stay here, the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The staff was so warm and helpful. Kudos to William at the front desk! The room was clean and well appointed. Completely met our expectations.
Right off the bat, every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. The room we had was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. The sheets were soft and so fresh you could smell it. Breakfast every morning was great and tasty. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to downtown for dinner. We can't say enough about how great our experience was. Thank you
Front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful to us as my son and I visited UVA for Days on the Lawn. Our room was clean and seemed recently renovated. The space was well designed. My favorite thing may have been the eggs at breakfast: scrambled with ham and cheese! Yum! All in all an excellent experience. I will definitely come again.
Overall it was a nice stay. The restaurant was very good as well. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the noise level. Asked for a quiet room, got placed next to a staff closet. This door was repeatedly slammed from early to mid morning. Sleeping in was one of the goals of the getaway so that wasn't awesome. Overall great hotel though, nice facility, plenty to do on the grounds. Would go back, but would ask for a different room.
We loved our stay. Friendly staff, comfortable room, bed, and porch. Outstanding sorts facilities, close to town and Blue Ridge mointains, affordable breakfast, breath taking surroundings. ,
The overall vibe of the hotel is very calm and peaceful. We really liked being able to walk to the restaurant on site and spa site from our room. We stayed in a lake view room with a generous patio, just wished it was warmer for us to spend more time out there! The room was clean and very spacious. The staff at check in/out were very hospitable as well as our servers, Daisy and Nancy, at the Old Mill Room. Honestly, our stay was excellent. My only gripe would be beyond the control of the hotel.. Some of the others guests were a bit uppity. It made me uncomfortable to watch them talk down to the staff.
restaurant very good-- gluten friendly ---staff attentive ---but can be in a rush at dinner time view from the room --- terrible looking over roof with equipment
Paths for walking. Spa amenities very nice. Room service breakfast was not hot. It is a long way from their kitchen (have to go outside) to many of the rooms but they should have some kind of hot box to account for that.
Room amenities and bedding comfortable We paid for a room with a view and balcony and got neither.
Spacious, tasteful room with a private patio overlooking the lake. Beautiful grounds, quiet, peaceful, yet only 5 minutes to downtown Charlottesville.
