Cleanliness Availability of basic toiletries(toothbrush and toothpaste) and no food on property site
Close to the airport. Our room was filthy. There had been dirty water spilled on the floor and it wasn't cleaned up. Dust balls all along the walls. My feet were black from walking on the bare floor and carpet. The restaurant limited hours & menu choices.
I liked where it was situated overlooking the bay. The location however required a cab everywhere you needed to go except to Emerald Bay Resort. Rooms were small but adequate. Bed was comfortable. This was a good basic room, no real amenities though. **No elevator **Understaffed at desk **Restaurant was decent but understaffed at all times we visited **Water in shower had no pressure/cold **Our room was only cleaned once during 4 days **No real amenities except Wifi/coffeemaker
I liked the hotel itself. It was in a good location and close to the airport which made it convenient. I wish they would have had a lunch menu or had the bar open a little earlier. The housekeepers were awesome and helfpul! We did not like some of the front desk assistants. They were not very friendly or helpful when needed. It was almost like we were bothering them when we had a question or when we asked for toilet paper (received none). Not very concerned with our needs.
I loved everything about them the staff was super friendly the view was breathtaking i would definitely go back. the villa was so comfortable very close to the airport and loved the free shuttle to emerald beach which was gorgeous.
Convenient location, good price for St. Thomas, VI.
We stayed there for the proximity to the airport which was fantastic (5 minute walk to the terminal). It overlooks a beautiful bay but keep your sights low so as not to see the electric plant across the way. Overall met our expectations and needs. I'm thinking this hotel is used as a stop for the airport therefore there is a lot of turnover which caused a bottleneck in checking in because the staff needs to turn over a bunch of rooms. If you're patient then the proximity to the airport is worth it.
Comfortable Bed & Great View! tv reception was horrible, shower pressure wasn't good, on the first day the toilet didn't flush good, planes were noisy since it was next to the airport
Location to airport Room was dirty hotel restaurant service was horrible rude and slow
beautiful location, the beach and pool, the view from the rooms, the restaurants, the staff and the manager were very nice, the meals. I returned to the hotel for extra 2 more nights.
I liked it it was close to the airport inconvenient for us to catch a flight no elevator to the second floor
LOCATION WAS GOOD, PROXIMITY TO AIRPORT WAS GOOD. RESTURANT WAS EXTREMELY OVERPRICED AND NO OTHER OPTIONS COMMUNICATED, I.E. LOCAL EATERIES OR FOOD DELIVERY OPTIONS. IT RAINED WHILE WE WERE THERE AND OUR ROOM FLOODED. NO EFFORT WAS MADE TO REACCOMODATE US, ONLY TOWELS TO DRY THE FLOOR AND A FAN
The hotel was in a nice location and nicely setup They have lot of mosquitoes all over resort and even inside the rooms. The rooms are old and need renovation
Swimming pools are great with the view of the sunset. They have 5 restaurants and not a great selection on the menu and very pricey. You need a car if you're going to stay at that the Frenchman's reef. Average price for a taxi was anywhere from $8 to $14. Luggage is $4 a piece.
Staff was disinterested in providing good service.
After a long day of travel it was nice to pull into a resort that was all inclusive. There was no need to leave the premises There were some signs of deferred maintenance
Activities included in the resort fee for adults and children are excellent. Water aerobics, trivia games, yoga classes, parrot show, etc. Food prices on the property are pretty high given the average quality. The standout is Havana Blue which is on the reef side and privately operated --- the food there is excellent!
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The amenities and number of activities you can do on site was great. The restaurants were par. ok food, nothing to write home about. The views were beautiful and the facilities were clean. The water pressure in our shower was sub par and it made for cleaning off after the beach difficult. The carnival night which was advertised as very fun and a great time was not really all that exciting. I probably would have found something better to do with my evening had I known.
The onsite water activities that is available and heavenly days Sailing boat option. Two nearby restaurants by hotel. Bathroom toiletries could of been better. Like travel size shampoo and soaps for one time/ individual use
Restaurant personnel unfriendly. Beach awful
I must say, flying into St Thomas and arriving late at Point Pleasant was such a treat. They carried our bags to our room and showed us where to go and have dinner down by the water at there lounge. It was literally on the water and beautiful! When we awoke in the morning and could really view the resort it was love at first site. Very peacful and quiet. You are surrounded by a bunch of little islands and the color of the water was breath taking. I would fully recommend this resort.
great views and friendly staff. we enjoyed our stay.
Its beautiful i want to go back now if possible my hotel was great
For this price, I was expecting a 3.5 star rating resort. The view was great from the balcony (B-17) and the inside was spacious, but the restroom had ants and no toiletries (shampoo & conditioner). I was afraid from earlier reviews about bed bugs, but did not seem to have any problems. I was just put off by the old furnature and such.
Point Pleasant offered a large size suite with large balcony and comfortable furniture. The view was amazing all times of the day and especially for the sunrise. Kitchenette included with fridge, stove, toaster, blender etc. Must have car to really enjoy location of hotel because there are not many food choices to dine. Take advantage of the close proximity to Coral World and Coki beach, which is within walking distance. Coki beach has some of the clearest water and good snorkeling. Again a car is necessary because the hotel is built on the side of a mountain and the hills are very steep to navigate the grounds. Overall we enjoyed our stay and possibly will return for another stay.
It is located on a hillside overlooking the north end of the island. From your room you get an amazing view of the ocean as well as many of the islands. Fungi's was a fantastic little restaurant for local flavors. It was very conveniently located to Red Hook and the ferry for St. John's. Enjoy, we did.
Resort was nice and clean. I can't review the 2 restaurants in this place as they were being re-modeled. The only negative thing about it is that the stuff was hard to find. Very often there was noone behind the desk, so I had to find a number on the internet and call office somewhere in the city for someone to call people here and they would come up to me. Other than that - very quiet and relaxing.
Point Pleasant was a great option for our family of 5. The view from our room (A103) was incredible! The resort was very spread out and quiet and does require quite a bit of walking unless you take the courtesy shuttle or have a rental car. Fungi's was very good, quick and reasonably priced. You can walk from Point Pleasant along the beach to Coki beach which takes about 20 minutes. We drove the first day and it took at least 20 minutes and then you deal with parking. The snorkeling is excellent and there are women that do hairbraiding (we paid $* for the top only.) Try to avoid cruise ship days (ask at the front desk which days ships are in) or the place will be packed and the prices go up. We also drove to Secret Harbor and found parking by the tennis courts that wasn't marked 'for guests only.' Secret Harbor is just that - 'Secret' and not easy to find! It had great snorkeling was very quiet and had a restaurant right on the beach - we ordered baskets of fries for our kids ...
We had a great experience there. If you are staying awhile you need to get a car. We didn't use the shuttle service they had on property. We didn't mind the walking. Although it is very steep and some areas are not the best lite areas. The only complaint that I have that is there is actually no beach on the property. You can walk to Coki beach but it does seem a little shady. Allthough everyone over there seems pleasant enough. The room we stayed in was privately owned and was very nice. Don't plan on taking a long shower for the hot water runs out very quickly.
My room had a spectacular view, but had no complimentary shampoos, conditioner and lotion which every hotel does, offers no room service, no coffee or breakfast in or near hotel, you must be in great physical shape as my room was 52 steps uphill to get to the lobby, one soda machine always sold out, no honor bar, spa or wifi. pools were fair and never used. charge for hotel safe in room, boasts two beaches that were about 20 feet long and rocky. a taxi to get to town will run $15.00 plus tip and once in town have to beg a driver to go up that hill and can cost up to $25.00. Nothing is close by must take taxi everywhere. Seemed like a one star hotel nothing fancy here. Very disappointed.
If you want relax, good place to stay and great view from the rooms
i had an awesome stay...the only set back was no front desk service after 6pm
My son & daugher-in-law were married on the Elysian Beach Resort on 05/08/07.. I arrived on 05/05/07 and the hotel staff was extremely unprofessional and rude. The check-in policy is not at all what my reservation letter stated from the company. The letter stated $250.00 deposit at check-in and we had to put a $3,000.00 deposit down. ! I was a hotel manager for years and I never treated my hotel guest like this and never charged them money ahead of time only at CHECK- OUT!!. !
The beachside restaurant was great. The pool was lovely and the staff were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.
it was better in reality than the pictures was showing.only the beach was not really a beach but there's so many beaches in st thomas to explore than the one at your hotel .the studio was really clean , towells were changed everyday.parking facilities and proximity to the supermarket was perfect.also the restaurant is great and you must try the lobster.
We were very disapointed. The hotel staff was very rude and unhelpful. The hotel was not clean and in desparate need of maintenance.
we are time share owners at the Elysian Beach Resort (2 weeks) and go down every year . the management lacks any knowledge of just what vacationers want and expect when they arrive and stay there. 1st. they only have 69 rooms to rent so they are always overbooked. are weeks are deeded ,so we own the unit for 2 weeks every year sat to sat. this year we arrived on a sunday night and were told that they had put someone in OUR room and they would try and put us in another room. we got our room on monday. This properity used to be a RCI 5 star gold crown resort but no longer. it would be lucky to get 1 star. 2 resturants on prop. and both overpriced for what you get. if you don't have a car you are stuck there unless you take cab's everywhere, very expensive. if going to the USVI go to the Westin in St. John, cost more but worthevery penny
Beach. We found our hotel room (119) less than desirable. There were flourescent lightbulbs, no screen on the door to the balcony overlooking the parking lot. The furniture was dated, and the staircase to reach our room was dark and unlit in the early evening.
