Proximity to Lourdes sanctuary. The reception we got on the first day was excellent from Pauline and her colleagues. Pauline is an asset to the Hotel. The Reception was clean and welcoming. Lots of religious iconic items on display and sale at the reception.

The room on first appearance looked clean. The bathroom walls were clean sort off but in entering and attempting to use it, the supposedly white putty in between the white tiles have turned mouldish red. Could be better cleaned. The magnetic plastic trip protector on the base of the glass divider was not properly cleaned and was splitting off. On first entering the room, I didn’t check the beds to make sure as most reputable 4 stars hotel there was a mattress sheet protector between the mattress and the bedsheet, until we were about to sleep at 10:30pm. On checking there were No protecting sheets on the two of the three beds. This was a big disappointment. The best way to keep people safe and healthy is to practice good hygiene and safety measures. And to be trusted to do this by your customers. This is a hotel that obviously gets lots of guests and a high— yet very close timeline between turnovers. Called the Reception at 10:30 pm was offered a new room but we were too tired to pack up and move. The night front desk officer kindly came up to help. Checked the problem apologised profusely then went and found two mattress covers, no plastic lining. One was the right size the other too short. So we had to make do. Didn’t result in a comfortable night rest. We went for dinner at the restaurant big mistake. One dish of fish. sweet potato purée and onion rings was a disaster. It seemed the fish was cooked initially probably from frozen. And then warmed before serving so it was hard. Throw the piece at the wall and it will probably bounce back. Carrot soup was a disaster watery and vegetables over cooked and over warmed!!! Purported Hotel made chips tasted like frozen chips then cooked not really to perfection. Complained was not resolved satisfactorily but we were charged for the disastrous meal!! Wasn’t particularly comfortable nor impressed after all of these mishaps!
