Hotel viejo. Pobre mantenimiento. Fallas múltiples Nunca arteglaron el aire acondicionado
We had a wonderful time in Ixtapa where we stayed at the Dorado Pacifica. We went with friends who were returning for the seventh time. My husband and I understood why our friends keep going back to the same hotel. It was situated in the middle of the Ixtapa hotels along the ocean and across from the market and restraurant area. The staff of the Dorado Pacifica were very personable. The restaurant and bell staff greeted us like old friends. The rooms were comfortable and the pool area was great. We joined the bocce ball games, watch water volleyball and other activities. I recommend the Dorado Pacifica to new visitors to Ixtapa and to old visitors if they aren't staying there already.
We stayed here just one night because we were not starting our timeshare until Saturday. We had so much more fun here in one night that the whole week at the time share. Great swim up bar, friendly staff, fun activities and great weather. It is just a great place to stay.
Although we are not fans of the A/I format, it was better than we expected. There was no problem getting any drink and most foods requested. The food was generally very good but did get a little tiresome after 2 weeks but there are still the excellent restaurants nearby. We just hope they will be able to survive with so many hotels going A/I. We probably would go back as we love the Dorado, especially their staff, Felipe, Jorge, Saul, Antonio and so many others. Our only concern would be the A/I. We would like to have a choice or maybe just A/I breakfast.
I would recommend this hotel. People are very pleasent. It was peaceful, great for just relaxing.
Good tourist class hotel with friendly staff. Clean public spaces and rooms. Food is the only dissapointment; but many good restaurant choices across the street in the plazas. Room maintenance issue was quickly resolved. Been there five years in a row and keep going back.
Loved staying here. It is a family based hotel, so expect family hours. Pool bar closed at 6PM. not a huge resort, but a few high quality restaurants. Better than most resorts I haves stayed at in Mexico.
The hotel was very nosiey, dirty elevators and the food was vengeful. Especially the 'kosher' turkey/bacon. The room had a nice view, and was cleaned well. Typical problems at checkout with extra charges.
If you want to lose all your money this is the resort to come to. To start, our room 2027 was extremely dirty. When we first arrived there was puke in our toilet already, and it appeared to not have been cleaned at all since the last guests. Also there was a trail of drips coming into our room from the room above ours that honestly looked like dried blood and there was a LOT of it. We mentioned it during our stay but it was never cleaned. Also my boyfriend was robbed 220 USD. The strange thing is is it seemed as if the person who took it knew exactly where to look because nothing else was missing only cash right from his wallet, his bag was even zipped back up. I do NOT trust the employees they barely spoke any english or at least pretended not to and would not do anything about the stolen cash. Also i showed security that i could break into our own room just by slipping the card between the door and lock so it was THEIR responsibility and liability that it was taken. The head of secur...
We have stay at this hotel at least a dozen times and we will continue to come back. They have great staff and an outstandingcaring general manager.
All of the staff are friendly and efficient. Our 2 rooms were ready when we arrived. The lobby is open and attractive. Our rooms were not luxurious, but were nicely furnished and sufficiently spacious, with small, but comfortable balconies with ocean-view. It was only a little disorienting that our pool view was of the hotel next door, and our wi-fi connected us through that hotel's system. The washrooms are large and attractive with a large, really nice floor to ceiling shower enclosure. The pool is great, with a consistent 4 ft. depth. At one end, one can swim to the bar, where the depth becomes shallow, so that you can have a beverage while staying in the pool. The only 2 drawbacks are that, in Aug., the heat and humidity are intense, and the upstairs corridors are all glass-enclosed and not air-conditioned. Just by going from our room to the lobby downstairs, I was sweating so profusely that I could have easily returned to the room to shower again. The other negative is t...
We could see the improvements made from last year with the all inclusive restaurants. The food is very good. Service around the pool is second to none. Allehandro was our waiter all week. We seldom had an empty glass... except when they ran ran out of beer 3 times! Remember folks with all of us from the midwest.. especially Wisconsin we're a bunch of beer fans.. as opposed to Bear fans! lol The pool staff really makes your day around there. Alberto, Himer, Lisbeth, and Bianca keep everyone entertained and brighten your day. Hope to be fortunate enough to return next year!
We really enjoyed the hotel. The service was always friendly and responsive. We were surprised that we did enjoy the food, mostly appetizers, breakfast and lunch at the hotel. They did a wonderful job of preparing the fish that was caught on our fishing trip .We knew we would be back when we were checking out. We were there for a week and met so many guests that had been going back for years.
My husband and I recently spent our honeymoon at the Intercontinental-Ixtapa. Our room was updated- the bathroom was beautiful! We had a large deck off our room, and we were able to keep the room nice and cool during the day! The pool/bar staff is super friendly! Weekdays the hotel is very slow- which we appreciated. We were able to chat with many different guests! There is a great massage place down the beach (2 hotels to the left) if you are looking for an outdoor, beach side massage ($20 for an hour!), If you leave the resort to explore, I suggest pizza at Frank's and drinks at the General- both of which are across the street in the shopping plaza.
My husband and I spent 5 nights at the intercontinental during New Years. We were very disappointed with this resort for several reasons. First, our room (ocean view) was very out of date and was definitely not a 4 star room. We tried to remain optimistic because we didn't plan on spending time in our room. The beach and pool were nice. However the main pool was very crowded and full of children. Typically this wouldn't sound like a problem, but the children were allowed to use any water toy in the pool they wanted...including WATER GUNS! Spending any time near the pool could mean getting sprayed by a water gun or hit with a toy. The food was awful. There was only one a la carte restaurant that was open while we were there and the food was pretty bland and boring. The buffets were pretty bad. We ended up eating most of our meals at the restaurants across the street or at the marina. We will definitely not return and will think twice about staying at another intercontinental resort.
We have made three trips to this hotel in Ixtapa. We have always enjoyed the staff (friendly), the choices of food, entertainment. the pool, and the closeness to shopping. This will always be our hotel of choice.
I feel I did not get my moneys worth, Food & Restaurant selection was not good at all - only good thing was the beach & pool... Very overpriced- Too Many pushy sales people-- Watch out they call it ''THE CLUB''
We stayed here May 18 thru May 21, 2012. Staff was very attentive to our needs. Rooms were nice and clean. Food was good. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment and the disco at the lobby bar. Pool is nice and big. Only recommendation is having more of a variety of food at the snack bar other than hamburgers, hot dogs, and nachos every day.
My family and I traveled to Ixtapa. The hotel staff is great. The tower is a little old. The hotel in under renovation. If you don't like humid smell upgrade and stay by the garden or ocean. My family and I would return to the hotel.
The staff is friendly. I was worried about the food from other reviews. I don't know what they were eating but the food was good. We upgraded to ocean front. Was well worth it! Room service was prompt. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Resort is in a perfect spot. Walk across the street to other restaurants and bars for a change.
There was 4 couples that stayed at the Presidente Hotel from 1/22/09 to 1/29/09 and we had a wonderful time. All staff was wonderful, they were all friendly and helpful. This was a clean resort as the staff was always sweeping, cleaning the pool, and sweeping all the sand up cleaning everything else all the time through the day. The food was good also. There was many choices from Italian, French, mexican and traditional buffet food. They have many different events going on everynight for entertainment and during the day they kept you busy if you wanted to join in. The rooms were also clean and everyday we had flowers on our pillows. Yes they need some work but what hotel doesn't even in the United States. I would definitely stay here again as we enjoyed ourselves very much and you couldn't ask for a better vacation.
Though staff was ok We were extremely dissatisfied with the Quality of this hotel. The food was not edible in my opinion. Also my husband got sick after eating the second day there. I disagree with the 3-4 star rating it was given. I have been to Ixtapa many times and have stayed in far better accomodations. We will not return to this hotel!
The Intercontinental Ixtapa Resort All-Inclusive Hotel was average at best. The pool area was beautiful, but the rooms were not as advertised. The rooms looked old, and as if they had not been updated since the 80's (other than the flat screen TV). They were hard to keep cool, and the elevators were not able to keep up with the volume of people. The food and drinks were average, but the service was great! Don't expect 3 star accommodations. I would give them 2 stars at best!
We enjoy this hotel. The food is okay and the entertainment is very good. The location is the best. Across the street is ful of eating places, shops and free evening entertainment. The breakfasts at the El Presidente are wonderful!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is our third stay here and will come back again!
The staff here are amazing! We just back on 12/08/12. They go above and beyond to make you happy, and they were so good with my kids, ages 8 and 4. I would highly recommend this resort!!
CONSIDERING THIS HOTEL?... BE ADVISED: Excessively loud nightclub noise/music is a real problem at this hotel. The hotel is surrounded by three nightclubs and they are permitted to party on until 5:00 am, or beyond, seven days a week! These are open air nightclubs, so the building does not contain the sound. The open style hotel architecture and single pane windows, that do not seal, contributes to the transmission of this offensive sound. These clubs go long and loud even if they have only a few customers. One morning I visited these clubs at 2:30 am, because I was unable to sleep. Carlos & Charlies had only a few customers and Park Royal had seven customers, all were seated at the bar. No one appeared to be particularly interested in the music, but the music volume was still excessive! When they do have a large group of people the noise is unbearable, especially when they add a screaming D.J. to the scenario. I spent the last two weeks of January 2008 at this hotel. The e...
Front desk personnel are friendly & efficient. Hercules is the best poolside server! Food is excellent. Room cleaned early each day and attention to artistic floral/towel arrangements. All personnel is friendly and helpful.
The pool was awesome. Missed not having lounge chairs on the beach. Hercules couldn't have been more accommodating. A quiet relaxing vacation.
We had just a wonderful time. The staff is the best! Great Service overall. H and C were the absolute best!! The only complaint I would have is there was a few too many kids.
Very pleased with all aspects of the hotel and amenities. Had more to offer than the descriptions I found online. Also the location couldn't have been better, able to walk or take a bus to all the sites.
The physical facilities at the hotel are very adequate and I really liked the attributes of a small hotel. The beach is great, the rooms are comfortable, nice pools, and the grounds are carefully maintained. However, I experienced two major disappointments during my vacation that will stop me from staying there again. 1. The practice of guests being permitted to reserve poolside tables & chairs 2. The excessively loud evening and early morning nightclub noise/music from the three nightclubs that surround the hotel
Problem: Guests reserving poolside tables & chairs\n I recently returned from a two week stay at the Posada Real Hotel, Ixtapa. There is indeed an active informal, hotel policy permitting guests to reserve poolside tables & chairs. Hotel management does nothing to discourage the practice and in fact they encourage it. Each day, these self centered guests leave their towels, books and other personal items on the desired tables and chairs, thus insuring that they have the same site at the pool. This was done, day after day, at most of the poolside tables. Hotel management never removed these 'reserving' items at the end of the day, thus encouraging this behavior. When I complained, the hotel management suggested that I do the same. I didn't take their advice, because that goes against my concept of fair play. One group of guests, from Brownville, WI, created their own little compound area by pulling two tables and extra chairs together and that was their exclusive domain for...
room was cleaned- cleaned- once in 7 days we were there. Took 3 calls to get towels- they forgot to replace them when they came in to clean. The rest of the week they came in to make the beds and nothing more, leaving dirty floors and more shampoo. We were greeted at the front desk by a very unfriendly receptionist-seemed it hurt for her to smile! If you're looking for a cheap room this place is for you--I've never not liked a hotel or written a complaint but this time I was truly disappointed...the all inclusive domestic drinks were the highlight and most likely what made it tolerable...
We spent 2 weeks at the pacifica and spent almost every breakfast at this hotel instead. The staff are friendly, fun and very accommodating. We plan to go back and stay here instead of the pacifica at twice the price
People have complained about the food, I thought it was fine. The beds are hard as a rock though.
This will be our 4th year at this hotel. The staff has proven to be very comforting. I do find the beds to be a little hard however at my request they provided a cusion. Carlos is a great bartender and service over all is excellent. Food is good not over the top great but not over priced either. This hotel has been a great get away for us and we plan on returning for a long time.
We had a great time! Staff upgraded our room for an ocean view w/o extra charge.
perfect location very good staff service exelent reception service nice evening enterteinment shows , dance contest karaoke etc too many kids (hotel policy) children under 8 unlimited ? stay free even worst the lobby bar //////////// adult only ////////// serves no alcohol drinks to children on late hours
